Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
'Cause I'm trying and trying to walk away
But I know this crush ain't goin' away-ay-ay-ay-ayy
Goin' away-ay-ay-ay-ayy
Has it ever crossed your mind
When we're hanging, spending time girl, are we just friends?
Is there more, is there more?

Dream, dream of a landmine explosion, dream of kids you have been interacting/playing with for 6 days, dream of the kids losing their arms and limps, dream of the bloody hospital filled with shrieking cries. I woke up with a jolt, and cried in my blanket. How stupid, I know. But I guess, I'm still not over the OCIP trip yet. And I know I still wanna go back Cambodia. Maybe even further like say, Kenya or Calcutta.

Since I'm still sick & stuck at home, I might as well do the quiz Jason tagged me with.

The R&R> Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself.> People who get tagged need to write a post in their blog of their 10 weird things/habits/little known facts as well as stating this set of rules clearly.> At the end, you need to choose 10 people to be tagged & list their names>No tag back.

1. I like twirling my hair around my fingers when I'm sleeping. Geex.

2. I love seeing my own blood oozing out from my wounds/cuts.

3. I emo alot on bus rides.

4. I love Ferro Rocher.

5. I kiss my mum goodnight before I sleep every night.

6. Thinking

7. Thinking doubly hard

8. Yes, still thinking!

9. Cracking my brain and searching for answer

10. Till the next time! :)

Sister's coming back to Singapore today! I can't wait I can't wait! Whooping 14 days of missing her and today's the day! I have this strong feeling she'll cry when she sees me at the arrival hall later, just like how I hugged my mum so tightly and cried like a baby. And I'm so gonna sleep with her tonight and tell her all the happenings during OCIP trip. :DDD

Anyway, had our mini OCIP gang gathering yesterday at Orchard. So glad that our gang all turned up. :) But, I was feeling tired/drowsy/emo-y (Idk why) so that explains why I was kinda quiet/pissed when we kept going into shops/irritated. Sigh what a loser, Christina. Never mind, there's still Wednesday.

Talking about Wednesday. Trg's resuming this Wednesday! Oh my gosh. I'm soooooo dead. Really. Serious. No kidding. I stopped doing my sets since 2 weeks before Promos. Damn. And I think (Actually, no need to think. It is definitely.) my stamina is in pooooooooooor condition. Gosh, coach's gonna kill/slaughter/throw ball at me/say 'Your parents everyday cry ah'! :( Oh noooooooooo!
And then there's OCIP barbeque on Wednesday too. Which means the four of us (Lynn, Xinyi, Meng Seng and I) would have to rush down to Valentine's place straight after trg. Okay, I guess there's like a high possibility that I wouldn't turn up for the barbeque though I really really want to join you guys for partying and tonning. 'Cause I think I would have died during trg and tooooooo dead to travel to Marine Parade. :( And I'm still down with sore throat and flu, that gives me even more valid reasons not to turn up.

Sigh. Sad life I've got. :(

A continuation of OCIP2008.

I miss Cambodia. I miss the head banging and all the night parties (without mentioning the early curfew at 1030pm). It had been great to play the sickest truth or dare game with you guys and having you guys ringing the hotel room doorbell 5 times every visit.
And "whatever happened in the room stays in the rooom!"

Meng Seng, always the mastermind but ended up falling for the trap;
Kun Wei, always violating Elaine's chipmunk and snores so loudly even if its a 20minute short nap, comes up with the lamest dare ever;
Elaine, the one with the smoothest skin and her 7 year old looooook;
Yun Ni;
Acasius, with a special nickname called Ah-Ca-Sus and the DAREST girl ever doing all the demos and explaining all the terms for me;
Eileen, the touchy girl but yet refuse to admit that she loves touching girls (Lol!);
Chuan Chun, BCC the nicest angel who closes and lock the door everytime someone leaves/enters the room 202;
Ben, you've got the sexay look la dude and have some kind of mature thoughts, I always remember your bestie -- Billy;
Aly, the guy who is always funny, hyped up and never once fail to MSN his girlfriend;
Najiy, with the headband on his head (I've no idea why he has that, its not like his hair is so long, hmmm)
Beatrice, my rooooooomie for 10 days and with her 'PLEASE LOCK THE DOOR' rule, lost her whole photo album in the camera and I came out from toilet after bathing only to realize shes crying and I had to cheer her up until I suddenly fall from the bed down to the floor and she started laughing (what a bitch ahahahah!), thought fireworks were bombs, and shared experiences with each other;
Sean, the guy with his freaky pinky so hugeeeeeeee that its not A PINKY FINGER;
Mel,

I miss the Indian poker game. I miss the fortune thingy (Hilarious like mad!). I miss going gagaga with Eileen over the cute waiter, Lita. I miss the room raids when Eileen would be the one paving the way for us into the room, Casu Beat and I would dress up in our mat, sunglasses and jacket attire and then CHIONGED into the room. Once, we raided Kunwei's rooom. What the heck! It was sooooooooooo smelly!
I miss the way all of us snuggled into my small cosy room (like 4 people on each bed, and poor BCC have to take the flooor!).
I miss how we all sang along to those songs we played on the bus. I miss the care and concern we showered for each other when we ALL fall sick together, had sore throat, flu and headache. I miss the way how Elaine passes the hand sanitizer during meals and we would all start spraying it like good kids. I miss how we joked about spraying the sanitizer all over and using it to attack each other (Yes, its Ben who sprayed me!) I miss calling all of your rooooms to plan night parties and morning call you guys. I miss Miss Wee knocking on our door and say, the noise level is tooo high! Lower down! I miss Mr Tan telling us his Cheemology theories and his reflections. I miss Miss Lee, our big sister, disciplining us. I miss having those stupid logic games we played during meals and on bus rides, I always took a superrrrr long time to understand.

I'm glad that I have been to where I should be. :)

To be continued...

Hello peeps! Yes, I'm back from Cambodia Siem Reap! :)

Though I'm currently down with flu and sore throat and I had to stay at home to recuperate, the trip was none otherwise worthwhile and enjoyable.

Extracted from own journal:
Day 1
Looking at the lifestyles of the Cambodian villagers, I realize how fortunate I really am and how sheltered my life is -- to have have a stable roof above and good living conditions. But yet, I admire the way they look at things -- Like say, though their living conditions are bad, they still remained positive towards life. Their lives may be simple, with only their fishing boats, but they made their lives a much more meaningful one than all of our lives.
Quoted from Nadiah: Singaporean kids are too bored being kids, while the Cambodian kids are too bored of being adults. How true.
Also, with Candy not being able to join us for this long-anticipated trip, I've learnt the importance of being cautious.
Day 2
Stepping out of the bus upon arriving Tatouk Pri Sch, my feet landed on the muddy ground, images on houses on stilts appeared before my eyes, and the first breathe I took consists of the dung smell. Flies were buzzing around, cows were ploughing the grounds, the first thought that came into my mind was, oh no, do I really have to do CIP here for 5 days?!
As the entire day goes on, I sense that they are far more contented than Singaporeans. They do know how to appreciate the work we volunteer to them. And they are happy even if we give them just fruits for lunch. At the same time, I'm in search of the answer to this question: Are we really helping us or rather, they are helping us? At least in my opinion, I believe that they are helping me, in realizing things I never had the chance to discover.
During the city tour, I witnessed the traffic situation, how bad it is. In the shopping mall, we noticed that the escalators that we have been so familiar with, are something new and a strange tool for them. They were all surprised and taken aback by the escalators. It stirred me to realize that we could be living in the same planet, same world, but yet the technology advancement is so so so different; with what we have in Singapore, they don't have and what they have in Cambodia, we don't have it in Singapore.
Day 3 Reflecting upon ownself
In front of the Cambodian kids, I actually felt kind of embarrassed. Yeah sad to say that, but its true. It's just a small freaky lizard and dead bat, but yet, I'm screaming freaking loud while the kid can just pick it up with her bare hands. Sighs.
Day 4
3 things I've learnt:
1. How to paint. I never had the chance to paint something in Singapore.
2. OCIP members are fun people to be with!
3. I cannot teach young kids.

2 interesting things:
1. Their school lasts for 3 hours only, unlike typical Singapore primary schools.
2. The kids here are rough and rowdy, too familiar with the nature.

1 difficulty:
1. Making the lesson interesting and making them wait for us to prepare our teaching materials before we can get started on our lesson. But thank god, Benedict, Wanting and Shi Han made the lesson COOOL!
Day 7 Appreciation
It first started with Sean down with fever, headache and sligh hangover. Then it continued with Benedict. A funny guy turned pale and sick in just an instant. Later that night, Yun Ni was down too. Watching her puke and vommitted all the contents in her stomach, I felt a pinch of heartache. Next was Shi Han, Jasmine, Aly and Miss Lee.
I thought we took the necessary jabs and medication, how come we're still getting sick and even Yun Ni was hospitalised? After seeing so many of my teammates falling sick, I learn to appreciate the friends I've made, and also the importance of our health. Because being sick deprives us of our energy and really makes the people around us worried.
I appreciate the education system and route our government and parents planned out for us. At least I wouldn't be one of the only few to enter university and learn english.
I'm just getting to know you guys better, but 3 more days left, and we have to part. :(
Day 8 Freedom
Maybe the Cambodians have more freedom in the sense that they are not forced to study, and they seemed carefree with whatever they do. In fact, it is our own mindset that locks us in this dilemma and we're sick of life, thus unable to find joy within it. However, they find bliss in their ignorance as in, they don't know that we're actually more well-off than them, and see that everyone in their village lives the same way, thus they don't feel inferior or so.
On the other hand, Cambodians may not necessary be the ones who are free. We have the material means to buy whatever we want, whatever we desire, whatever we like, but they being not so well off have to consider twice before making the purchase. Also, perhaps some Cambodians do not really like people like us to help them, because they think that this is afterall their own country, they do not need an outsider's help, and the help we offered now seems like a forced one, like they are forced to accept the help we offer.
So actually, I cannot come to a conclusion of who is actually more carefree, but I can say, we're all free in our own ways, and no matter what, we will always envy others for having what they have and we don't, and never appreciate what we already have.

Lea Hay, Khnhom Nuk Neak, Cambodia. (Goodbye, I miss you, Cambodia)
Especially, Mopok, Luk, Gan, Ni and other kids who came to welcome us warmly every morning.
OCIP2008! :)

Photos up! Credits to Eugin Wee! :)

Take my hand, take a breath
Pull me close, and take one step
Keep your eyes locked on mine
And let the music be your guide

Oral Presentation was awesome! Okay, I did stumble like once or twice but overall, I guess our group did fairly well, better improvement than those other dry-runs. :) Not too bad! I was sooooo excited after my part, and was like telling Jon before Q&A, "Omg, Jon, it's gonna be over in another 4 min!" And when it came to Q&A, I guessed I answered pretty well too, I mean, I am confident my answer suits the question and it kinda convinced the accessors. Well done, TP007!

After the presentations, I caught HSM3 together with Yuz. It was great. I don't want this to be the last movie. :(
Jason, you should save up money and watch it man! They sang the 'We're all in this together' in a slow version! :D Anyway, thanks for the blog entry! Geex, I kinda miss CampUnity!

& The movie kinda made me wanna go for proms. Can you believe that my secondary school didnt organize a prom for the graduating classes? Sucky. I heard they put it on the claim that, some couple once kissed in the middle of the dancefloor, and since then, they cancelled the idea of having a prom. But whatever it is, the good thing is, I'm in JC, and yeah, there might be a prom, like what the J2s are having. Oh my, I'm feeling so excited for them! Hah! Hey, come on, it's a girl's dream to attend prom alright?

It's like catching lightening
The chances of of finding, someone like you (Oooh like you)
It's one in a million
The chances of feeling the way we do (The way we do)
And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
So can I have this dance? (Can I have this dance?)

Just 8 more days to the OCIP Cambodia trip! Oh yes, I'm looking forward to it thought it might seem like a free labour concentration camp. Hahahahahah!
